FLORIDA LEARNER'S PERMIT INFORMATION

How to qualify for a Florida Learner's Permit

  • Applicants must be age 15-17
  • Successfully pass Florida's Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education course. Check our Classes page for an online version of this course
  • Successfully pass the Class E Knowledge Exam. Check our Classes page for an online version of this Exam

Learner's Permit Driving Restrictions

  • You must always be accompanied by a licenced driver over 21 years of age
  • You are only allowed to drive during daylight hours for the first three months
  • After three months, you are allowed to drive till 10 pm
  • You must drive for 50 hours - including 10 hours of night driving - to qualify for a class E license.
  • You must hold your licence for a minimum or 12 months or until your 18th birthday
